Audio Canvas -- Mark Klett

Mark Klett is an American Photographer and Professor of Art at Arizona State University. His work studies Western landscapes, most notably the Grand Canyon and desert environments. Klett has a diverse background in geology and photography. After receiving a bachelor's degree in Geology, he decided to pursue photography professionally and received an MFA in Photography. In the meantime, he spent summers using his geology degree as a field assistant for the U.S. Geological Survey.

With the USA Pro Cycling Challenge upon us, spectators and athletes are both focused on the excitement during the race. Before the race starts today (Mon., 8-19-13), we take a look at what it's like to be in the middle of the peloton, and what it takes to be a pro rider. Aspen Public Radio’s Rebecca Kruth has more.

Xaviera Simmons, a 2013 Featured Artist at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, discusses her work, process, inspirations and vision. Simmons works in photography, installation, multi-media and audio. She also enjoys working in the American west and much of her work investigates social, political and personal narratives. Simmons gave an artist lecture at the Ranch on August 8th and had a piece of work in the Ranch's Annual Live Art Auction on August 10th (pictured).
