As the number of public trails in the Upper Roaring Fork Valley grows, one group of users wants to make sure their voice is heard. Pitkin County is in the process of connecting more trails...and equestrians want to make sure they have access. Aspen Public Radio's Roger Adams reports.

As Basalt Trailers Empty, Residents' Opinions Vary on Relocation

Ralph Vasquez lives in the Pan and Fork Mobile Home Park, where residents are being relocated to make way for a park. He's unhappy with the situation and wants to see change.

Some Basalt families are angry about being removed from their homes. The relocation is part of an effort to get residents out of a flood plain and restore the Roaring Fork River. Now, frustrated residents are meeting directly with town officials. The Town of Basalt is holding a meeting next week with a committee called Workers for Justice and Diversity in Basalt. Aspen Public Radio’s Marci Krivonen reports.

* Aspen and Roaring Fork Public Schools are closed.

* The Garfield RE-2 School District that covers Rifle, Silt and New Castle is closed.

* All Colorado Mountain College campuses from Rifle to Aspen are closed today. That includes CMC learning locations in Rifle, the Glenwood Center, Carbondale, Spring Valley and Aspen. For more information, please call your local campus. The college's Central Services administrative offices in downtown Glenwood Springs remain open.
