At only 21 years of age, Oklahoma native Parker Millsap is quickly making a name for himself with his captivating live performances, soulful sound, and character-driven narratives. Since the release of his self-titled debut album earlier this year, he has garnered a nomination for the Americana Music Association's 2014 Emerging Artist of the Year and has received praise from The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, American Songwriter, The Boston Globe, and NPR, to name a few.

Students, Parents Tackle College Questions at Fair

On Sunday, October 5th, Aspen High School hosted just under three thousand students and parents from Lake City, Durango, and other far flung Colorado towns. They quizzed University representatives and took workshops as part of the Colorado Western Slope College Fair. It’s been around for years, but this time, the focus was on helping students with the details, like essay writing and affordability.

Electric Road Rally

Electric cars will set off tomorrow (Friday 10-3-2014) from various points along the western slope for a road rally.  It is in part a demonstration of recharging the cars.  There are now recharge, or plug-in stations along the Roaring Fork Valley and across the west slope.  Heather McGregor is one of the organizers.  She is with the Garfield County Clean Energy Collaborative.
