Colorado Voters to Decide on How to Tax Recreational Pot

Colorado voters this Fall will decide how to tax recreational marijuana.

This fall voters across Colorado will decide how recreational marijuana should be taxed. The state legislature referred a special sales tax and an excise tax to the ballot. As Bente Birkeland reports, while the initiative has broad support, there are some who worry it goes too far.

Kevin Barry is the author of City of Bohane and two story collections, his newest, Dark Lies the Island, is being published in America in September 2013. He has won the European Union Prize for Literature and the Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award, and was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award. Dark Lies the Island is a Publishers Weekly Top 10 Fiction Book of Fall 2013. He lives in County Sligo, Ireland.

Artist Brad Miller is no stranger to the Anderson Ranch Arts Center. Arriving at the Ranch in 1980, Miller ran the ceramics studio from 1980 - 1984 and then served as the Executive Director from 1984 - 1992. He is back at the Ranch to teach a two-week long ceramics workshops, focused on ceramic forms and glazes. Miller now lives in Los Angeles and works in a variety of mediums, including painting and photography, in addition to his functional and structural ceramic work. More of his work can be found here

A collection of Miller's work is now on display at the Harvey Meadows Gallery in Aspen.
