Coalition, Industry Clash Over Thompson Divide Report

There isn’t enough natural gas in the Thompson Divide to make it worth drilling… that’s the conclusion of a report by consultants hired by the Thompson Divide Coalition. The Carbondale group has been trying to buy oil and gas leases from drilling companies. An industry group, however, says there aren’t enough facts to say if Thompson leases would be a bust, and it accuses the Coalition of being disingenuous about its intentions.

"The Russian Smile", Security Pains & More from Sochi

2/12 - Alrighty.  Sorry for the hiatus.  Been busy working hard at day, and celebrating jobs well done at night.  
 
We’re about half way through, and still on Slopestyle.  I’m really looking forward to Ski/Snowboard Cross as that will change things up quite a bit.  And it’s a really exciting sport.  Don’t know my position yet, but I’ll keep you posted.

Local Teens Express Themselves Through "Spoken Word"

Performing artist Myrlin Hepworth is teaching Roaring Fork Valley teenagers "spoken word" poetry this month. Some of the teens compare writing the poems to therapy.

Teenagers across the Roaring Fork Valley are getting a lesson this week on the “spoken word.” It’s a form of artistic poetry or story telling that's sometimes put to music. Often poets perform their original works at a competition called a poetry slam. Aspen Public Radio’s Marci Krivonen reports.
