Bob Purvis is a retired Senior Executive with British Petroleum. He lives in Snowmass Village and spends off-season time in South Carolina. His daughter and son live in the Valley. He served as an appointed member of the Snowmass Village Town Council from 2000 to 2002, and on the Town’s Planning Commission from 1998 until 2000. He was re-appointed to the Planning Commission and served as chair. Bob played a key role in the Town’s Village Leadership Forum and their subsequent approval of a Village Aspiration Statement and Forward Plan. He is currently a member of the Town’s Marketing and Special Events Board.
Bob serves on various community boards, advisor committees, and volunteer projects. He has served as a Trustee at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies where he was President in 2008 - 09. Currently, he is Vice-President of the ACES Endowment Fund Board. He also serves on the Snowmass Discovery Board. Bob has previously served two terms on the Aspen Public Radio Board of Directors.
