Matt Erikson

Classical Music Host

Trained as a classical pianist at Amherst College and the Hartt School of Music, Matt recently completed a master’s degree in journalism at USC’s Annenberg School of Journalism. He has written for the Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe and Arizona Republic and was an announcer and writer for WRR, the classical music station for Dallas/Fort Worth. The highlight of his tenure at WRR was serving as the exclusive host and blogger for the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, a major, quadrennial, international event. This is his third summer covering the Aspen Music Festival and School for Aspen Public Radio.
