Aspen Art Museum Marks Exhibit Changeover With Piano Sound Bath

Aspen Art Museum

The Aspen Art Museum is marking the third iteration of its yearlong exhibit "Ritual" Tuesday night with an event called a "sound bath." It’s part concert, part meditation.

The exhibit “Ritual” is meant to encourage reflection on the role of spirituality and religion in peoples' lives.

For the hour-long sound bath, attendees will sit or lay on yoga mats. Pianist Rave Mehta will perform songs meant to put the audience into a state of “flow,” a feeling of complete presence and focus.

The event is the kick off to the final iteration of "Ritual." It includes works that examine the role of rituals at the end of life, as well as the impact faith can have on creativity.
