Professional cyclist and Aspen resident Tejay Van Garderen is well rested and ready to dominate the USA Pro Challenge. The 26 year old is the defending champion of the week-long race, which kicks off in Aspen today, Monday August 18th. Van Garderen talks with APR's Elise Thatcher.
Van Garderen has had a good year so far-- earlier this summer he was was the top American finisher in the Tour de France, placing fifth overall. Since then, he’s had a chance to be at home in the Upper Valley for the last two weeks. Van Garderen is married to Aspen native and former pro cyclist Jessica Phillips.
