Banff Mountain Film Festival comes to Aspen

The Banff Mountain Film Festival returns to Aspen tonight. It features films about everything from skiing and mountain biking, to scuba diving.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour returns to the Wheeler Opera House tonight. The Ute Mountaineer has been hosting the event every year since 1997.

The two-day festival takes viewers all over the world. South America, Wales, Canada…

It originally started 40 years ago as an addition to the Banff Mountain Book Festival. Sixty films are shown at the main festival in Canada and about half of those are taken around the world to be shown to local audiences.

The films are all about adventure. In “The Rocky Mountain Traverse”, two friends decide to traverse the Rocky Mountains by paragliding.

The festival finishes tomorrow.
