Basalt P&Z To Look At TACAW's Future Home

The Arts Campus at Willits (TACAW) brings performing arts to the mid-valley. Their current venue on Market Street is aptly named "The Temporary." On Tuesday, Basalt’s Planning and Zoning Commission will visit the site of their permanent location.

The permanent space, known as “The Permanent,” is just down the street from The Temporary. Basalt’s Planning and Zoning Commission will need to approve the site plan before construction can begin.

Once everything is approved and TACAW has raised the money, the new space is expected to take 15 months to build.

The Temporary opened last August and Ryan Honey, TACAW’s executive director, said it’s been a hit.

"People were really ready to have a home for culture here in the mid-valley," said Honey.

Honey said The Permanent will provide a bigger, more versatile space than the Temporary. The new venue will also offer food.
