Blue Horizon - Dec. 19, 2015

Blue Horizon Show presents its annual Christmas program.  The show features Christmas classics as well as modern carols.  One song you will hear only on Blue Horizon as it was given to Cheryl by the artist following his performance at the Belly Up in Aspen.  This is Paris Delane's live rendition of Silent Night.

On this episode you will hear a Christmas classics, The Little Drummer Boy and Silent Night, played by Jimi Hendrix, as well as a Louisiana twist on the holidays, Christmas Fais Do Do, by Marcia Ball.  A couple of the featured artists recorded entire Christmas albums; Charles Brown and Etta James.  The show starts with the vocal group The Ravens with White Christmas.  One of my favorite songs of the holiday is Louis Armstrong's Zat You Santa Claus?  The show features a couple songs, in addition to Paris Delane's Silent Night, that you can't find on any CD.  Tommy Castro features songs on his website that his fans can download for free.  One such song is his effort with the Calvin Owens Orchestra, Please Come Home For Christmas.  Candye Kane sent out her composition, Santa Is A Swinger Now, to her fans by email. Listen and hear these tunes and more that will put you in the Christmas blues spirit!
