A 29-year-old man identified as Ryan Becvarik was found in an irrigation ditch near Sopris Park in Carbondale Sunday night, according to Garfield County Coroner Robert Glassmire.
Witnesses called 9-1-1 Sunday evening and first responders from Carbondale police pulled him from the water. Becvarik was transported to Valley View Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy revealed no trauma and an initial investigation indicates that he drowned. Officials are asking that anyone with information contact the Garfield County Coroner’s office 970-665-6335.
