Bustang, CDOT expand services to weekends

Bustang, a service provided by the Colorado Department of Transportation, is expanding its service next month.

Since its launch in July, Bustang received criticism for not providing weekend service to Denver. That will change on November 16th, following an announcement by the Colorado Department of Transportation on Wednesday.

Two new weekend routes will be added next month on both Saturday and Sunday: a morning route from Glenwood Springs to Denver, and an afternoon route from Denver back to the high country. Initially, Denver/Glenwood routes were only offered on weekdays.

That trip is the most popular of the three currently available, including routes to Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. The buses along the Front Range average about 30 riders per trip, and cater more to commuters, while the I-70 route is generally closer to capacity and is used for longer trips, rather than daily riding.
