Carbondale Fire: do residents still want paramedic service?

Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District

The Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District is gathering feedback about what residents want. And one of the key questions is whether voters still want a very high level of medical care when an ambulance shows up. Those details are important because the District probably will go to the voters and ask for more funding.

Voters turned down a tax measure a few years ago, and the District is close to running out of money. Aspen Public Radio’s Elise Thatcher talks with Board President Gene Schilling about a survey that’s been sent out, and public meetings held in recent months. Schilling also heads Carbondale’s Police Department.
