Castle Creek Bridge detour returns Monday

The Castle Creek Bridge team will host monthly in-person open houses to update attendees on the project's progress. The first of these are on Wednesday.

When the detours and delays to the commuter corridor began in early April, there was vocal criticism directed toward the city for lack of public outreach. The city is now providing regular social media and email updates as well as in-person discussions.

“We know that this is an impactful project, and we wanted to be sure to provide opportunities to share information for folks who might bring in information a little bit easier in-person,” said Bryana Starbuck, public relations manager for the project.

At the presentations today, there will be photos of the work completed thus far, as well as updates on the construction timeline. Phase Two—with a return to the Power Plant road detour—is now scheduled to begin on Monday.

The open houses will be held the fourth Wednesday of every month through the projects’ October end date. Wednesday’s meetings are at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. in City Hall.
