The suspect has been identified through witness accounts and testimony from the victim, Seth Beckton.

A third man was riding the chairlift as well. Authorities interviewed the suspect Wednesday and he was released this week. The Aspen Skiing Company is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Deputy Alex Burchetta declined to disclose what was discussed during the interview with the suspect, but says authorities do not believe he will cause further trouble.

“We don’t feel that there is any further threat to the public at this time in regards to this incident."

Burchetta says anyone else who was witness to Sunday’s altercation may contact the sheriff's office. Beckton survived the 20 foot fall without injuries — a detail that might influence what charges can legally be brought against the alleged suspect should an arrest be made.
