Aspen Strong’s mission is to raise awareness of and improve mental health in the Roaring Fork Valley. The organization connects mental health resources and looks to start conversations about what it calls “mental hygiene.”

Christina King is the founder and executive director of Aspen Strong, and Resa Hayes is the board president. They are also both licensed professional counselors.
They spoke with Cross Currents host Christin Kay and reporter Alycin Bektesh about the upcoming "Changing Brains, Changing Lives" symposium on October 19-20. This year, there’s a special session just for young people led by Dr. Christopher Willard. He specializes in mindfulness strategies for kids and teens.
