Lots of other free events today: at noon, it’s a Spotlight Recital at the Aspen Community Church, with a diverse program featuring top student talent. Chapel Chamber Music takes place at 4:15 in the Aspen Chapel, and at 5:15 the Basalt Regional Library offers a student recital. A String Showcase at 8:30 tonight in Edlis Neeson Hall on the Bucksbaum Campus showcases some of the summer’s most exciting string players.
At 3:30 today, The Little Nell provides a luxurious setting for a Hotel Music recital.
The Science of Music series continues today at 6 at the Chabad Jewish Community Center. Today’s topic, The Neuroscience of Music, will be presented by Dr. Robert Zatorre.
Three-time Grammy-Award-winning classical guitarist Sharon Isbin celebrates her 25th Aspen summer this year, and she’s marking it in style with Guitar Passions, an electrifying concert tonight at 8 in Harris Concert Hall. The program will include elements of classical, Latin, Brazilian, and jazz as Ms. Isbin teams up with iconic jazz star Stanley Jordan, and Brazil's leading guitarist Romero Lubambo.
