Food pantries 'lift up' during holiday season

People wanting to donate supplies to those in need during the holiday season can drop off non-perishables at one of Lift Up’s seven food pantries.

For the past week, volunteers have been packing corn, green beans and stuffing into Thanksgiving dinner supply boxes for families valley-wide.

Volunteer Janey Gubow said inconsistent job opportunities don’t always equate to food on the table.

“Many of our clients are people that are seasonal employees, so during the off season, the spring and the fall are very tough for people since there's not many job opportunities," she said.

All seven of Lift Up’s food pantries are open today and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
