Forest Service building in Aspen open to public

Ryer Gardenswartz, Aspen Public Radio

The Forest Service Visitor Information Center at the entrance to Aspen is back in business today.

The reopening is a joint venture between the Forest Service and Pitkin County Open Space and Trails. They started moving in last week and plan to be settled later this month.

Fran Soroka, office manager for Open Space, said visitors today can expect “the ability for staff to answer their questions about the surrounding areas and the trails.”

The building has been closed to the public for over a year. They will host a grand opening party on July 14.
