Glenwood Springs Arts and Culture Board discusses NEA grant

www.visitglenwood.com

The City of Glenwood Springs Arts and Culture Board will discuss a new public art exhibit at their meeting Tuesday evening.

Glenwood Springs was chosen to receive a $20,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, awarded in support of engaging the community with public art.

The City of Glenwood Springs and the Downtown Development Authority are looking to put an outdoor plaza at a site west of the new pedestrian bridge. The grant would help install a permanent public art piece there.

There will be a national search for an artist to create the piece; the Arts and Culture board will be joined by the City of Glenwood Springs and the Historical Society in selecting the finalist.
