Painter Shawn Benton will display his latest works at Forre and Co. this evening.
When Benton was a kid, he collected basketball cards. He had a 1986 Michael Jordan rookie card. When he started making the trading card series for his most recent exhibition, he took the border of that card, and then painted interpretations of some of his favorite artists in the middle.
Artists like Picasso, Ofili, Basquiat and Pollock. There are also rare ones that are twice the size, Five feet by four feet.
The show will also include other paintings, as well as meditation.
