JAS attendance steady despite weather

After a short weather delay and evacuation on Friday, nearly 6000 people stuck around to watch Hozier and Fitz and the Tantrums play the festival in Snowmass.

On Saturday, No Doubt played what Jazz Aspen Snowmass founder JIm Horowitz says was one of the best moments in the history of the festival. Lenny Kravitz and The Fray closed out the festival Sunday night.

About 9000 people were at the Saturday show, and Horowitz estimates the same amount went to the festival Sunday. Despite Friday’s weather challenges, he says this was one of the best Labor Day shows in the history of the event. Numbers were more consistent across the three days of shows compared to past years because of higher sales of three-day passes.

UPDATE: It was initially reported that this weekend was the first time that Fitz and the Tantrums had played the festival. This is incorrect and the story has been update to reflect that.
