Katrina Byars resigns from Carbondale's Board of Trustees

Aspen Public Radio

Carbondale trustee, Katrina Byars, resigned from the town’s board on Tuesday night. She is moving to Glenwood Springs.

At the meeting, the board recognized her for her passion, intelligence and commitment to her ideals; Byars was known for “standing up for the little guy.” She championed issues like disability access to local parks and combating oil and gas development in Thompson Divide.

Byars ran for Mayor this past November and has served as a town trustee previously.

The Board of Trustees will appoint her replacement, who will serve until her term ends in April of 2018. Any Carbondale resident is encouraged to apply for the position.
