A valley local is taking the helm of Carbondale’s 5Point Adventure Film Festival. Meaghan Lynch was named executive director of the non profit on Monday.
She has worked in public relations for the Aspen Skiing Company for the last four years. Lynch first attended the festival eight years ago. She was so moved by the event and its five guiding principles that she published a letter in the local paper praising it.
“I am holding myself of a standard of really hoping to be able to provide that [same inspiration] to members of the audience and beyond,” she said.
The adventure film festival celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Submissions are currently being accepted. The event runs each April in Carbondale, with sister screenings occurring in Asheville, North Carolina and Bellingham, Washington.
