Mountain Fair set to open 44th annual event

Amy Kimberly, the executive director of the Carbondale Council for the Arts and Humanities says that she expects somewhere between fifteen and twenty thousand people to attend Mountain fair. The festival features artists, music, food and poetry.

Kimberly says different generations getting involved is what makes Mountain Fair unique. She is currently working with two 8-year-olds who were helping to set up.

“They’ll grow up to be showing up just like this crew, these people that show up now, that show up and are making it happen.”

Volunteers have come from as far as Alaska to help set up the festival.
