Nearly 4,000 hit the slopes on Thanksgiving

The Aspen Skiing Company is satisfied with the number of skiers and snowboarders who hit the slopes on Thanksgiving.

Aspen Mountain had three lifts open and hosted around 3,000 skiers, according to Jeff Hanle, SkiCo’s director of public relations. Snowmass had four lifts open, but reported fewer visits, somewhere between 750 and 1,000.

These numbers are good, Hanle said, considering the dry weather. There is snow in the forecast this week.
