New pool, or no? Carbondale residents invited to speak their minds

Carbondale Parks & Recreation

On Wednesday evening, Carbondale residents can say their piece about the prospect of a new town pool. The current pool is 40 years old...and acts like it.

Each year, more and more of the budget for the John M. Fleet Pool goes towards things like fixing leaks, replacing heaters and repairing the pump system.

According to a survey, many think it’s time for a new pool. Questions remain, however, about the cost and who would pay for it. The answer, likely, is a mix of public financing and fundraising.

The community is invited to join a discussion, put on by the town’s parks and recreation commission, Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
