In an unprecedented year of divisiveness and rancor across the nation and in our community, Aspen Public Radio was proud to host a series of debates on local issues with the candidates and representatives from important local races. APR is the place on your dial and on your device to find intelligent and reasoned discussion.

Hawk Greenway is one of three candidates for Pitkin County commissioner. Aspen Public Radio’s Alycin Bektesh sat down with Greenway as part of our series of conversations with the candidates.

Voters are choosing between the three commissioner candidates now, and ballots have a final deadline of June 28.

As with each candidate, we asked Greenway to choose a location that represents the biggest issue he sees in the county. We walked the Rio Grande Trail near Cemetery Falls and Greenway spoke about his experience on the Pitkin County Open Space and Trails board of trustees and the importance of keeping public trails open to the public.
