Ticket sales high for Aspen Film Academy Screenings

Aspen Film kicked off its 24th year of Academy Screenings last week, and about half of the tickets have been sold.

Executive Director John Thew said he was concerned about attendance after the Wheeler Opera House had to delay its opening. The screenings were moved as a result.

“You know I thought we might experience a little bit of a downtick after we moved it from the Wheeler over to Harris Hall, and we’re actually at almost the identical place that we were last year.

In addition to the Academy Screenings, Sharon McWilliams has been brought on to the Aspen Film team. She worked for the group in the late ‘90s. Her new role will focus on event planning and management.
