Snowmass Village Art Advisory Board members heard about how they could improve the town’s presence in the Roaring Fork Valley’s art scene
Amy Kimberly, executive director of the Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities met with art-minded community members last week.
Snowmass Village residents are currently trying to increase the presence of the arts in town.
Kimberly told the board that the transition the town would have to make would be different than what has happened in Carbondale. Places like Telluride and Breckenridge have more in common with Snowmass than Carbondale does.
“They are really making a statement and I think that a connection could be a really strong one," says Kimberly. "Breckenridge could be bringing in a lot of these performance arts that could then go on to Snowmass.”
The board has asked her to look over documents to obtain a consultant for ongoing projects.
