The Glenwood Springs City Council is inviting the public to weigh in on the remaining city manager candidates.

None of the final candidates have work experience in Colorado, but all have a background in municipal leadership.

The Glenwood Springs City Council interviewed six candidates out of 20 applicants. Those six were narrowed down to three, who were chosen for in-person interviews and meetings with the public this week.

The candidates are Debra Figueroa, an assistant borough manager in Carlisle, Pa., Joe Hannan who has served as city manager for towns in Oregon, Washington and Alaska, and James Nichols, Douglas County manager in Minden, Nev.

Along with a second round of interviews with council, finalists will get a tour of the town and meet key city department heads and staff.

“I think we are very interested to see what the community has to say about the various candidates,” said Glenwood Springs Mayor Mike Gamba.

The meet and greet is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Glenwood Springs community center.
