Valley Roundup - October 23rd, 2015

Guests this week are Randy Essex, editor of the Glenwood Post Independent and Aspen Times columnists Roger Marolt and Andy Stone.

Aging schools and a lack of teacher housing are driving support for a ballot measure in the communities of Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs.

The chamber of commerce in Glenwood Springs is joining the library in trying to keep a certain area in the downtown a marijuana free zone.

There’s a movement afoot to get young Aspenites to vote, in an attempt to get a lodge proposal on Main Street passed in this fall’s election.

Meanwhile, the city of Aspen is asking an advisory question but is leaving out language that a yes vote may mean a new 50,000-square-foot City Hall somewhere else.

Finally, transportation issues and expanded bus service from Glenwood Springs to Denver.

That’s going to do it for this week’s edition of Valley Roundup. Thanks to Randy Essex, editor of the Glenwood Post Independent and Aspen Times columnists Roger Marolt and Andy Stone.
