It’s a huge week for music in the valley.

On Thursday, Chromeo will come to Aspen to play a New Year’s Eve show. Pitchfork has called them an “80s plundering of synths and funk.”

Tuesday at Explore Booksellers, Natasha Sinel reads from her book “The Fix”.

The Deck the Walls Holiday show closes at the R2 gallery in Carbondale on Wednesday. It’s your last chance to get wintry gifts made by local and regional artists.

The Glenwood Vaudeville Revue will host two New Year’s Eve shows, starting at five p.m.. In Aspen, two free fireworks shows are going up at 8 and 12 midnight. You can celebrate the new year at a time that’s convenient for you. There will also be fireworks in snowmass after the annual Torchlight parade.

Take 6 plays two nights at the JAS Cafe at the Little Nell on Saturday and Sunday. The group has won 10 Grammys over their 25 year career.

Rufus Wainwright plays at the Belly Up on Saturday. Here is a fun fact for you. You may know him for his cover of “Hallelujah” but he also writes operas that have been performed all over the world.
