Get your picture taken with Santa at the Limelight Hotel on Wednesday. Free hot cocoa and cookies will be served.

Mike Peters comes to Explore Booksellers on Wednesday. He has penned the long-running comic strip “Mother Goose and Grimm.”

On Thursday at the Belly Up, The Wood Brothers take the stage at 10 p.m. Paste Magazine calls them “masters of soulful folk.” And to me, they sound like a lovechild of Beck and a lot of the folk-rock bands that reignited the genre in the last decade.

Kris Cox will be giving a talk at the Art Base Annex, formerly known as the Wyly Annex, in Basalt. The discussion will revolve around his current exhibit at the Annex, “Botanicus Mysteria”.

The SOL Theatre Company’s production of The Muppet Christmas Carol opens on Thursday. Young kids put on the show that has been famous for more than a century.

Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker opens on Saturday. The two-night run features the company’s own take on the classic show.

On Sunday, the Little Nell lights the tree in its courtyard. There will be cookies from the pastry kitchen, and winter clothing donations are being accepted for LIFT-UP.
