Week in the Arts - February 15

 It is your last week to see Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities’ Valley Visual Arts Show. The 36th year of the event is on display at the R2 Gallery and at Bonfire Coffee.

Railroad Earth plays the Belly Up on Tuesday. The group takes bluegrass and jam band elements and mixes them together.

 

And on Wednesday night, G. Love and the Special Sauce takes the stage at the Belly Up.

 

The Basalt Regional Library is screening the 1968 film “The Odd Couple” on Wednesday.

 

The Red Brick Center is holding another Masterpiece Mine event at the Limelight Hotel. The event includes a new painting that is not released until the start. Participants then paint their own version while drinking beer.

 

Thursday at the Wheeler Opera House, the 2016 Laff Festival begins. The lineup includes acts like Gilbert Gottfried, Pete Holmes and The Second City improv group.

Larry Rynearson and Cindy Hines talk about their book, “Legends of Glenwood Canyon”.

Francis Ford Coppola’s classic film “The Conversation” is being screened at the Aspen Art Museum on Friday.
