Week in the Arts - January 18th

  Aspen Gay Ski Week kicked off over the weekend. The 39-year-old event raises money for the Roaring Fork Gay and Lesbian Community Fund.

 

Tuesday, the Red Brick Center for the arts holds the Valley Art Auction. The event raises funds for the non-profit.

 

David Hiser and Paul Andersen speak at Explore Booksellers on tuesday. Their books explain the birth of Aspen by way of Independence Pass.

 

Wednesday, Who’s Bad comes to the Belly Up. The group is a Michael Jackson cover with two performers who play the role of the King of Pop.

 

The Basalt Regional Library will be screening the classic film, “Blues Brothers”. The movie starring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd has created a cult following.

 

Friday at the Art Base in Basalt, learn how to get the perfect shot with an iPhone photography class taught by Summers Moore.

 

The Aspen Art museum is screening the Hitchcock classic, “Rear Window” on Friday.

 

On Saturday, The Anderson Ranch Arts Center is holding a cross-country skiing and snowshoeing event followed by dinner and live music. It is the first of three similar events.
