On Wednesday, the Aspen Music Festival and School returns to the Benedict Music tent to play patriotic favorites for its annual Fourth of July celebration. The performance begins at 4 p.m.

The opening reception for the exhibit “1 + 1 = 3” will also be held on Friday at the Launchpad in Carbondale. The show features collaborative work by ceramic artist Doug Casebeer and mixed-media artist Betsy Chaffin. The opening begins at 5:30 p.m. The exhibit runs through Aug. 3.
