Week in the Arts - November 16

It is Monday, November 16th and this is The Week in the Arts, an abbreviated list of the events and happenings going on in the valley in the coming days.

On Tuesday at the Basalt Regional Library, the Altius String Quartet plays a concert of pieces from the traditional European string repertoire. The show starts at 5:30.

 

Thursday at the Limelight Hotel, get a preview of things to come at the Wheeler Opera House this winter at the Wheeler Preview Party. The event includes beer, wine, snacks and gifts.

 

At the Doerr-Hosier on the Aspen Meadows campus, get a free tour of the Herbert Bayer art exhibit at the Aspen Institute. The tour starts at 11 a.m.

 

Are you a local writer looking to share your work? Come to Explore Booksellers Local Writers Read: Featured Readers and Open Mic. The event starts at 6 p.m.

 

Friday, get some of your early holiday shopping done with the Deck the Walls holiday show at the Launchpad in Carbondale. The show features goods made by local and regional artists, including hats and scarves and organic jams and jellies.

 

Saturday at the Pitkin County Library, it’s International Games Day. In the morning bagels and board games will be enjoyed. Come back in the afternoon for pizza and video games. Silence is not required.

Sunday at the Belly Up, Andy Frasco and the U.N. His blues, rock and pop music will start at 9:30 p.m.
