Week in the Arts: Oct.16, 2017

Welcome to the beginning of another colorful week in the Roaring Fork Valley!

 

On Monday, Carbondale Arts’ Rosybelle Mobile Maker Space presents a Beyond the Street Sew Class: Creations, Costumes and Accessories, at 3:30 p.m. on 4th Street in town.

 

Wednesday, the Aspen Chapel Gallery will present the 4 Rivers Biennial Exhibition, juried by local artists James Surls and Charmaine Locke. The reception for this 29-artist exhibition begins at 5 p.m.

 

Thursday at 8 a.m., Anderson Ranch Arts Center hosts the “Circle of Fire” Kiln Firings, where local artists and potters can fire work with the ranch’s wood kilns.

 

Friday and Saturday, the Sopris Theatre Company presents its production of ‘Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead’ at 7 p.m. at Colorado Mountain College’s New Space Theatre. There will also be a matinee of this show at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

 

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue presents the production of its fall musical “Little Shop of Horrors.” Each showing begins at 7:30 p.m.

 

Friday at the Marble Distilling Company, Boulder-based singer-songwriter Andrew Sturtz will perform, beginning at 8 p.m.

 

Saturday, there will be a printmaking workshop with a CU graduate student at The Project Shop in SAW, starting at 10 a.m.

 

Saturday in Aspen, The Wheeler Opera House presents Washington D.C. area-based Americana band Bumper Jacksons as part of the venue’s On The Rise series at 7:30 p.m.

 

Saturday in Basalt, The Temporary presents Mexico City’s Flamenco Guitar by El Javi. That show starts at 8 p.m.
