Aspen City Council meets with the Wheeler Board of Directors on Tuesday to discuss the future focus of the board.

The Wheeler Board of Directors currently makes recommendations for scheduling policy and rates for the theater and the building's commercial space.

Tuesday will be the first of several strategy sessions to discuss whether the role of the board should be expanded to a becoming a leader and advisor in Aspen's arts community, which could include growing arts outreach and education.

The board has requested to work with an outside consultant to re-define their mission and goals over the coming months, if the council decides to go that route.
