Women's marches 2.0 scheduled this weekend

Aspen Public Radio

The day after Donald Trump became the 45th U.S. president, millions demonstrated around the world.

A year later, another round of women’s marches are scheduled in places like London, Washington D.C., Denver and the Roaring Fork Valley.

In Carbondale on Saturday, a group will march along Highway 133 to support women’s issues, including showing solidarity with Sandra Lopez, a mother of three with a deportation order, currently in sanctuary with Two Rivers Unitarian Church.

In Aspen, there will be another “ski” down Aspen Mountain like last year, followed by a rally in Paepke Park; the focus of this march will be on increasing voter participation.
