Audio Canvas

2014 marks our third summer in partnership with the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village. Audio Canvas takes listeners on a summer-long tour around the Anderson Ranch campus. Katherine Bell, the Children's Program and Outreach Manager, discusses the summer children's workshops and the importance of creativity in today's youth. 

Jenene Nagy is the Artistic Director of Drawing, Painting and Printmaking at Anderson Ranch. She explains the experiences, techniques and goals of these departments and shares some of the unique workshops being offered this summer, including a computer-assisted font design printmaking workshop and a silverpoint workshop. 

Del Harrow, a ceramicist and Assistant Professor of Art at Colorado State University, taught a two-week workshop at Anderson Ranch titled "Digital Clay". The workshop studied the "hybrid" technique of combining technology and computer design with ceramics. Harrow explains the process, the results, and his personal inspirations. Nancy Wilhelms is the new Executive Director of the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, Colorado. Summer is full of events for Anderson Ranch: 140 workshops, featured and visiting artist lectures, weekly art "auctionettes" and children's programs. Wilhelms shares how locals, visitors, artists and non-artists can experience Anderson Ranch this summer.
