The Wanderlust yoga festival wrapped up in Snowmass Village on Sunday, with everything from conventional classes to rafting and biking. There was a newer kind of yoga, too. APR's Elise Thatcher went to check out what’s being called suspension yoga.

Sunday marks an anniversary of a local tragedy. A wildfire near Glenwood Springs 20 years ago, killed fourteen firefighters.

As the cycling world gears up from the Tour de France, the sport is still dusting itself off. We hear from Lance Armstrong who was found guilty of doping.

Another Ideas Fest speaker was Grover Norquist, founder of Americans for Tax Reform.

A natural history documentary screens on PBS next year and this one is unlike any other nature film. We’ll tell you why.

Finally, we’ll take you to Snowmass Village where a giant yoga festival gets underway today.

Yogis from around the world will descend on Snowmass Thursday for a festival called Wanderlust. The six year old traveling event brings yoga, live music, lectures and food to the places it visits. Aspen Public Radio’s Marci Krivonen has more.

The Wanderlust Festival started in Lake Tahoe in 2009. This year it’s traveling to seventeen locations including Snowmass, Australia, Chile and Brooklyn. Co-founder Jeff Krasno says the idea came after he and his business partner traveled to Costa Rica for a yoga retreat.

Communities That Thrive

Healthy communities put people first, with safe housing, convenient schools and workplaces, and ready access to food, water, recreation and sustainable transportation. Rural or urban, resource-rich or impoverished, they offer opportunity and hope, and reward imagination and ingenuity. These places also foster a sense of shared purpose, perhaps sporting community centers and gardens, resource-sharing activities and microenterprise, sidewalks and bike lanes. What are the must-have features of a healthy community? How should small towns and large cities be designed in the future? What does the explosion of mega-metropolises around the world mean to health?
