Aspen Native Returns with "Beautiful" Film

After a series of festival screenings for her new film, Aspen native Naomi McDougall Jones has returned home to screen her new project “Imagine I’m Beautiful” to a hometown audience on Saturday at the Wheeler Opera House. Aspen Public Radio’s Rob St. Mary spoke to McDougall Jones about the film recently. She says she wanted to bring the film to Aspen at her earliest opportunity not only because she’s from here, but because the community helped to make the film possible.

Non-Profit in the Spotlight: True Media Foundation, Part 3

Terra Martellaro is a former student of True Media Foundation's after-school program, BeHeard!. She recently graduated from the University of British Columbia with a focus on filmmaking. She shares her favorite memories and projects from the BeHeard! program, and how the skills taught in the program have helped her in the professional world of film media. Her journey of filmmaking has taken her from the Aspen Institute's late Environment Forum to the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. True Media Foundation founder and director, Chris Tribble, also joins.

Aspen and other parts of the Upper Valley are still digging out from last week’s historic snowstorm and there’s more powder in the forecast.

And all that snowpack is good news for farmers and ranchers in the Roaring Fork Valley.

The Aspen community continues to grapple with the recent loss of a beloved newspaper editor. We take a look at how hard it can be to prevent suicide.

On a lighter note, soon it’ll be much easier to speed through security at Aspen’s airport, a Catholic monk in Old Snowmass is featured in a new movie and the Olympic Games have kicked off in Sochi… we’ll talk with an Aspen athlete who’s settling in and getting ready to compete. We’ll also hear the latest on security concerns at the games in Russia.
