Anyone interested in becoming Carbondale’s seventh trustee needs to submit an application to Cathy Derby, the town clerk, by 5 p.m. Friday.
You need to be a Carbondale voter, a U.S. citizen and older than 18. You also need to have lived in Carbondale for at least a year.
As of Thursday morning, Derby, had received two applications from Jade Wimberley and NikiDelson, but she said the lion’s share usually come in on the last day.
The current trustees will interview selected candidates. They need to have a seventh trustee appointed by Aug. 26. That person will serve until April of 2018.
The position was vacated by Katrina Byars, who moved to Glenwood Springs.
