The Aspen Art Museum held its first edition of The Now event in its new building. The event was previously held in the St. Regis hotel. It is the second of two major fundraisers for the museum each calendar year. ArtCrush happens each year in the summer.
Governor John Hickenlooper attended the event and congratulated the museum on tripling its attendance over last year.
Seven items were up for auction at the fundraiser, including two commissioned pieces of art and an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles with museum CEO Heidi Zuckerman.
Attendance and final revenue numbers are not yet available, but the market value of the items for sale reached several hundreds of thousands of dollars.
