Aspen local Blanca O’Leary is a super delegate at-large for the democratic party - assigned the position by president Barack Obama for her work on his successful campaigns. As part of the Colorado caucus, she has front-row seats to the historic events of this week’s democratic national convention in Philadelphia.

“We helped elect Barack Obama as the first African American president and now we get to elect the first female president. These are some of the proudest moments of my life, I am really happy to be so involved in this campaign,” said O’Leary.

Aspen Public Radio's Alycin Bektesh speaks with Aspen local Gordon Bronson about his experiences attending the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

O’Leary said she has witnessed Party solidarity over the first three days of the convention, beginning with First Lady Michelle Obama’s opening-night speech that left the entire Colorado caucus in tears.
