On Tuesday night, Basalt Town Council reviewed an updated application for Stott’s Mill, the proposed development, across from Basalt High School.
The developer is proposing 113 housing units on the 18-acre property, along with a childcare facility and two parks. Council members had detailed questions about zoning and voiced larger concerns about affordable housing.
The investment group developing the project wants what it had back in 2009, when they got it approved, but couldn’t go forward because of the Great Recession. Now, they are asking for a reinstatement of their old development rights.
The second reading of the revised project is scheduled for Sept. 26.
